ELBA WATER AND ELECTRIC BOARD

The Elba Waterworks and Electric Board of the City of Elba was established in 1951.

Water:  The City of Elba serves approximately 1,800 customers

with quality drinking water.  Elba has four wells with pumping capacity

of 2,143 GPM and storage capacity of 1,510,000 gallons.

We have approximately 30 miles of PVC line and 65 miles

of cast iron pipe.

The City of Elba serves approximately 1,280 sewer

customers.  We operate a two-cell lagoon with a

design of .600 MGPD.  Our lagoon is made up of two

10 acre ponds.  We operate 44 lift stations and have

approximately 67 miles of gravity sewer and 15 miles

of forced main.

Elba is currently undergoing a $7,000,000.00 sewer project which will provide a sewer line replacement.

Every year Elba Waterworks is required to publicize its Annual Drinking Water Quality Report.  The current edition may be viewed HERE.  Elba Waterworks is committed to providing quality drinking water that meets or exceeds all state and federal drinking water standards.
